Acetaie Aperte 2025: Modena celebrates its “Black Gold”

From Friday 26 September, Acetaie Aperte returns, the annual event that offers the chance to experience up close the magic of Traditional Modena Balsamic Vinegar P.D.O. For an entire week, more than forty vinegar cellars will open their doors to the public with guided tours, tastings and experiences designed to reveal the secrets of a product that has represented the very soul of the Modena area for centuries.

Now in its twenty-third edition, the event expands with cultural initiatives thanks to the collaboration with the Modena Belcanto Festival and the Biblioteca Civica Antonio Delfini. From the opening performance of La Bohème at the Pavarotti-Freni Theatre, to sensory workshops and live demonstrations of must cooking and the cooper’s craft, Acetaie Aperte will offer unique moments where tradition and culture come together.

Among the highlights is the presentation of the first Observatory “Tourism & Traditional Modena Balsamic Vinegar P.D.O. and Modena P.G.I.”, a research project aimed at further enhancing the link between gastronomic excellence and local development.
