The second-level Consortium that brings together the Balsamic Vinegar of Modena P.G.I. and the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena P.D.O. Consortiums makes its first appearance at the Merano event
Balsamic Vinegar of Modena will be in the spotlight from 3 to 6 November at the 2023 Merano Wine Festival with a series of tastings and pairings at the “Le Terre del Balsamico” stand in the Gourmet Arena in the Kurhaus of Meran.
Merano Wine Festival is an annual event that attracts wine producers from all over the world, artisans of flavour, leading chefs as well as thousands of visitors, offering the possibility of accompanying the tastings with gastronomic specialties, craft beers, grappas and quality foods. These also include Modena Balsamic Vinegar, present under the aegis of the second-level Consortium “Le Terre del Balsamico”, a joint project involving the Consortiums established to safeguard Balsamic Vinegar of Modena P.G.I. and Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena P.D.O. and set up with the aim of protecting, raising the profile and promoting the two products, P.D.O. and P.G.I., and the local municipality, as well as consolidating the reputation and image of these designations and developing new commercial opportunities for these two hallmark Modenese and Italian agri-food products.
Merano Wine Festival will therefore be an opportunity to get to know Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena P.D.O., in both the Affinato (minimum 12 years’ ageing) and Extravecchio (minimum 25 years’ ageing) versions. A quality product with unique characteristics, of which around 15,000 litres is produced annually, appreciated by gourmets and the fine dining sector for its harmonious complexity and richness.
For Balsamic Vinegar of Modena P.G.I., the Merano event will represent an opportunity to present the Consortium Profile. This single, clear and immediate information system was created with the aim of providing consumers with an effective tool for identifying the main organoleptic characteristics of the product. Consisting of a logo made up of graphic and descriptive elements, the system communicates the product’s sensory profile in a simple and immediate way, enabling consumers to understand the organoleptic characteristics of the product and make their purchasing choice based on their own tastes and intended uses.
Come and discover Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena P.D.O. and Balsamic Vinegar of Modena P.G.I., tasting them on their own and as part of studied pairings, at table C1 “Le Terre del Balsamico” in the Gourmet Arena of Merano Wine Festival, at the Kurhaus of Meran, from 3 to 6 November.
